The boat trip is a wonderful adventure, cruising around craggy shores into hidden coves, through caves with regular sightings of dolphins, turtles, flying fish, sharks and whales in season. It is the unexpected encounters and unpredictable, inspiration character of nature that is unsurpassed ~ every day is different. And, forget the traffic jams ~ here you can own the ocean and have it almost all to yourself. Getting on the water is a wonderful way to discover the magic of an island steeped in natural beauty, history and its own unique culture.

Now let's talk fishing for those who love the buzz and the adventure of hard core fishing and want to get right amongst it. Isolated pristine Norfolk Island is truly one of the last of the best kept secrets in the fishing world who's off-shore reefs are surrounded by beautiful unpolluted waters and fish stocks which are protected by the lack of commercial fishing, limited recreational fishing and Huey! Be ready for an unforgettable experience that can rarely be found anywhere else in the world today and if you can find it, you will have travelled a long way to get it. Norfolk on the other hand is only a few hours flight from Australia and New Zealand.
You'll get to try a variety of fishing styles from bottom bashing, trolling and jigging. You'll probably be gobsmacked by how much fish you catch, how fast you catch them and the size of them. All equipment is supplied but if you want to bring a favourite, lucky rod and reel, feel free.
Be prepared for sore muscles and aching backs, because when the fishing is good its triple hook-ups, spooled reels, and great battles between man and beast. Hooking up on some pretty awesome sport and table fish is almost a sure thing. And if you think I'm prone to exaggeration, the only way you'll know for sure is if you come and see for yourself.

Steve is firm believer in eco-friendly, sustainable fishing and follows the principles of catch and release as well as bin limits during spawning.
Steve's boat is not the biggest in the fleet and he likes it that way, whilst it has all the stability and carrying capacity, its a delight to manoeourve around and take in and out of the water using the island's unique lifting gear. What sets Steve apart and attracts clients to Just for Two is the opportunity to get undivided attention. We cater for beginners to grinners, up to groups of 4. If you're a novice, Steve can guide you through the ropes for a fun, stress-free time. If you are a hard core fisherman you get to go hard if you want to.

And there is so much more on offer. You will more than likely get to meet Rachel and her family. She'll probably drive the truck attached to the crane that pulls you and the boat out of the water. This in itself is a unique and unforgettable experience. Rachel is a seventh generation Norfolk Islander and they say saltwater runs in the islander's veins, as does mutiny as she is also the fifth great-granddaughter of Fletcher Christian of the infamous mutiny on the Bounty. Be careful what you say ~ she might cast you adrift like her forebearer did to Captain Bligh!
In keeping with the island's hospitable nature, depending on the day and duration, a light morning tea or lunch is usually included.
And guess what, at the end of the day you get to cook and eat fresh fish straight out of the ocean ~ and you know it's fresh because you just caught it! For a small extra fee, Steve will also make a DVD of your fishing or cruising adventure to enjoy when you return home to share with your family and friends.
